What NType does.

NType is a free native text and code editor for Windows 10 and 11. It combines folder workspaces, multiple documents, syntax highlighting, macros, encoding controls and a local-first editing workflow.

When NType is useful

  • Edit plain text, configuration files, scripts and source code
  • Navigate folder workspaces and restore document sessions
  • Work with UTF-8, UTF-16, ANSI and different line endings

Before choosing NType

NType requires 64-bit Windows. Editing is local-first, but its download bootstrapper uses the network to retrieve and verify installation files; consult the product website for current requirements and terms.

How the installation route works.

Use the official NType website to review current requirements, licence terms and download options. This catalog page links to the product website; it does not add NType to InstallHub setup lists or start an installation.

Download and licence information stays on the product website.

You still review the publisher’s licence, component choices, system requirements and any available free, trial or paid edition.

Check the route, then make the decision.
