Visual Studio Code is a source-code and text editor with an integrated terminal, debugger, source-control interface, and extension system for additional languages and workflows. Its built-in Git features use a Git installation available in the active local or remote environment.
When Visual Studio Code is useful

- Review changes and create Git commits
- Run project commands in the integrated terminal
Before choosing Visual Studio Code
Leave unfamiliar folders in Restricted Mode until you trust their contents. Install extensions only from publishers you trust because extensions can run code with the editor's permissions.

How the installation route works.
