What Git for Windows does.
Git for Windows brings the Git command-line workflow to Windows and includes Git Bash, Git GUI, Explorer integration, and Git Credential Manager. It supports local version history and collaboration with remote repositories without requiring a separate Unix environment.

Before choosing Git for Windows
Installer choices such as PATH integration, line-ending behavior, and the default editor affect later workflows. Commands that reset files or rewrite history can discard work, so check repository status before using them.
