What Microsoft PowerToys does.

Microsoft PowerToys is a collection of Windows utilities that can be enabled individually. Its tools cover tasks such as arranging windows with FancyZones, renaming groups of files with PowerRename, launching commands, extracting text from the screen, and remapping keyboard input.

When Microsoft PowerToys is useful

  • Build reusable window layouts with FancyZones
  • Rename many files with search and replace rules
  • Launch tools or copy text visible on screen

Before choosing Microsoft PowerToys

Some utilities run in the background or register global keyboard shortcuts. Enable only the modules you use and review shortcut conflicts with other applications.
